Modeling – create details that bring characters to life
Flat surfaces are boring. It is the three-dimensional details, intricate ornaments, and realistic textures that elevate a cosplay project or prop from "good" to "masterpiece." In the Modeling category, you will find a revolutionary product that allows you to easily sculpt, shape, and add depth to your creations.
Foam Clay – your sculpture in foam
The star of this section is Foam Clay – an ultra-light, air-drying foam compound that has become a staple in every propmaker's and cosplayer's workshop. Its greatest advantage is its incredibly low weight, allowing you to add large, complex details without weighing down your build. Once dried, it remains slightly flexible, which minimizes the risk of cracks and damage.
Here is what you will most often use Foam Clay for:
- Sculpting ornaments and filigree: Create intricate decorations on armor, weapons, or jewelry that would be extremely difficult to craft from other materials.
- Creating organic shapes: Horns, claws, vines, protruding bones – Foam Clay is ideal for forming irregular, natural shapes.
- Adding textures: Easily achieve wood grain, stone, scales, or realistic battle damage and scars on the surface of your armor.
- Filling gaps and seams: It is the perfect tool for masking and smoothing seams between EVA foam parts, creating a perfectly seamless finish.
From raw form to final color
Once dried, Foam Clay can be easily worked – sanded using abrasive materials or precisely shaped with a rotary tool. It also serves as an excellent base for painting. Simply seal it with a primer, and then let your imagination run wild with acrylic paints.
Reach for Foam Clay and give your projects the depth and realism you have always dreamed of. Sculpt without limits!
